About the founder

Martha Vivian, Founder of Truly Amor
Melbourne-based mum of two beautiful boys, lover of journals, notebooks, handwriting, and old book shops.
When my first baby was born in 2012, I started a list of every precious moment and memory. I couldn’t find a truly great baby journal, so I used my phone to note down every little detail of the first five years of his life. Of course, there’s not much room for creativity when you’re just tapping keys on your phone screen, plus I was worried about the possibility of losing the data, and so I found myself toying with the idea of creating my own baby journal. With 15 years of graphic design experience under my hat, I knew it was something I could confidently achieve, and so Truly Amor was born.
Growing up, I spent countless hours wandering the dusty shelves of old book stores, lost in the stories and history. There’s just something about the smell, the feel of the paper, the tales held in the yellowing, well-read pages. I wanted to capture that essence of books and heritage within the brand, hence the contemporary, minimalist designs and the classics-inspired covers.
One of the most special things about recording memories with Truly Amor is the preservation of handwriting. Handwriting is such a special, sentimental part of us all, and I love that my journals provide a space for that sentiment to be kept. Every page of my journals is carefully considered and full of helpful prompts to spark your memories and make your favourite moments last a lifetime.
Heart-crafted and printed using quality materials that’ll safely carry your stories from birth to heirloom.
Enjoy the journey.
Lots of love,
